Seven killed as car rams into police booth
November 23rd, 2011 - 12:42 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Nov 23 (IANS) Seven members of a family were killed and five critically injured when their vehicle rammed into a police outpost in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district early Wednesday, police said.
The accident took place in Mohamdabad town when the speeding Scorpio ploughed into the police outpost and overturned, killing seven men on the spot.
“The victims are natives of Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district. The injured have been hospitalised,” police inspector Chand Hussain told reporters in Mau, 250 km from here.
“They were returning from a function in Mau when the accident took place,” he added.
