Seven Gujarat pilgrims killed in Punjab accident
November 6th, 2011 - 2:58 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, Nov 6 (IANS) At least seven pilgrims from Gujarat were killed when their bus skidded off the road and landed in a drain near Jalalabad town in southwest Punjab early Sunday.
Over 30 passengers in the ill-fated bus were also injured. They were admitted to hospitals in Jalalabad.
“The private bus, which was coming from Gujarat with pilgrims who were visiting shrines in Punjab, went off the road early Sunday. The driver seemed to have dozed off while at the wheels,” a police officer in Jalalabad said.
The accident spot is about 350 km from Chandigarh.
