KCF is a banned terrorist outfit and Panjwar figures in the list of India’s top 50 most wanted criminals.
According to the police, Panjwar’s wife Paljit Kaur and his two sons Shahbaz Singh and Manvir Singh had obtained Indian passports that were issued by the Regional Passport Office (RPO) here in 2008.
Police have also arrested a government junior engineer Parmjit Singh, who had helped them in getting these passports.
“Panjwar’s wife and two sons have obtained passports on the basis of forged documents. They had got their passports made in 2008 but at that time they were staying somewhere in Germany,” said Jalandhar Police Commissioner Gaurav Yadav here Tuesday.
He added: “In the passport, Paljit has been shown as wife of Parmjit, who is working as junior engineer in Tarn Taran town in Punjab. Panjwar’s sons were shown as Parmjit’s sons.”
The passports were later sent to them in Germany.
Police have also started an inquiry to trace the cops, who had done the verification while issuing the passports.
