Servant held for raping maid
July 23rd, 2011 - 1:43 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 23 (IANS) A 27-year-old servant at a house in south Delhi has been arrested for allegedly raping a maid there, police said Friday.
“Jagdish was arrested from the house at Greater Kailash area soon after the 30-year-old victim informed us about the incident,” said a senior police officer.
Police said that the victim is a widow and has been working at the house for the past two months while Jagdish is an old employee with the Chandigarh-based businessman.
“On Wednesday night, the businessman’s children were present in the house while he himself was in Chandigarh when Jagdish forcefully dragged the maid to a room and raped her,” said the officer.
A medical test has confirmed rape. Investigations revealed that Jagdish mostly stayed in Chandigarh and used to come to his employer’s Delhi residence a few times in a year.
