Sensex closes 206 points higher (Lead)

Mumbai, March 30 (IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Wednesday closed 206 points higher than its previous close.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,178.77 points, closed at 19,327.65 points, up 206.85 points or 1.08 percent from its previous close at 19,120.8 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P; CNX Nifty shut shop 1.09 percent higher at 5,798.95 points.
Broader markets also ended in the positive. The BSE midcap index closed 1.55 percent up, while the BSE smallcap moved up 2.23 percent.
