Senior Uttar Pradesh bureaucrat commits suicide
November 29th, 2009 - 10:17 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Lucknow, Nov 29 (IANS) A senior bureaucrat in Uttar Pradesh committed suicide here late Saturday, police said Sunday.
Harminder Raj Singh, principal secretary (housing) in the state government, shot himself in the head with his personal weapon at his residence on Vikramaditya Marg here, an official said.
Singh was a 1978 batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). According to informed sources, Singh was under a lot of pressure on account of political interference in his work.
