Gurgaon, June 4 (IANS) The highly-decomposed body of a senior IBM executive was found in his lodgings here Saturday evening, police said, adding it appeared to be a case of suicide but investigations were on.

The dead man was identified as Anurag, 30, and seemed to have been dead for at least two days.

The death came to light when Anurag’s neighbour in the Palam Vihar area alerted police.

“He called police to inform that there was a bad smell from the house after which police team was sent to inspect. The door was locked from inside. It was broken and then we found Anurag’s body was lying on the bed. It was highly decomposed,” said a senior police officer.

A forensic team also took samples before the body was sent for post-mortem.

“It seems that Anurag was dead at least two days ago,” a police official said.

Hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur town, Anurag worked in IBM as a senior executive and had been staying in Gurgaon for a long time.

“Prima facie it looks that the man has committed suicide but we cannot rule out anything because there was a property dispute going on in the family,” police sources said.

According to police, Anurag was in depression for last few months due to the property dispute as well as an ongoing financial crisis.
