Mumbai, March 28 (IANS) A senior citizen was found murdered in her flat here Friday afternoon. The police recovered the body of 62-year-old Corsette J. Dick in her flat where she stayed alone. The incident occurred in Chandrasheel Apartments in Gorai, northwestern suburb in Mumbai.

Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP) Makrand Ranade told IANS: “Corsette, a spinster, lived alone in the flat and was monetarily supported by her two sisters and their children.”

Ranade added that since last fortnight renovation work has been going at her flat and when the contractor Rajveer Singh came to collect his money Friday, there was no response.

Rajveer told the police that he had asked his two painters Thursday to collect all the leftover things from Corsette’s home but the painters Friday morning told Rajveer that they did not as there was no response in the flat.

On Friday when no one answered the door, Rajveer called the police.

“Corsette’s body was found in the bedroom with five stabs on her neck, chest and stomach,” Ranade said.

The police are on the lookout for the two painters and further investigations are on.
