Security drill in south Delhi market
October 12th, 2009 - 5:41 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 12 (IANS) A security drill was Monday carried out in a busy market in south Delhi to check the level of preparedness in the wake of any terror attack.
The drill was conducted in the M-Block market of Greater Kailash in the afternoon where a mock bomb was triggered to check response of various agencies including police, fire, hospital and bomb disposal squads, a police officer said.
The Greater Kailash Market was among the terror sites when five blasts went off September last year, killing 24 people across the capital.
The police officer said a similar exercise was conducted in one of the shopping malls in east Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar area Monday morning.
