The Sears tower authorities have unveiled their 103 floor glass balconies on Wednesday July 1. Suspended at 1353feet from the ground and having 4 feet stretch is indeed a marvel in itself.
Some of them who took their steps there had a thrilling experience even after they came out of the balcony and agreed saying that the first step was the hardest of all. Margaret Kemp of Bishop California was found saying, “It’s like walking on ice. That First step you take- am i going down?”
The Balcony which is on the Building’s western side, will present a view of the Chicago streets and the river just below the balcony which needs quite a daring spirit to watch.
One of the property owners of the Sears tower, John Huston adds to the thrill as he says, “Today we present you with “the Ledge”, The world’s most awesome view, the world’s most precipitous view, the view with the most wow in the world.”
Holding up to 5 tons with the glass of 1.5 inches thickness, The inspirations to form such a balcony came from the head prints of visitors that lay on the window that was there before.
The Sears tower is known as a center of business standing high on the Chicago skyline that offers 3.8 million square feet of space inside for retail and business purposes. Being 1450 feet high with 110 stories, the tower is the tallest in North America and is the third tallest building in the world. This skyscraper built in 1973 still now holds its attraction and addition of this new wing will increase its attraction all the more than before.
