SE Railway’s freight earnings rise
June 16th, 2011 - 9:15 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, June 16 (IANS) South Eastern Railway posted a 14 percent increase in its freight earnings as it carried 28.86 million tonnes of cargo during April-May 2011 as against 18.27 million tonnes in the same period last fiscal, a release said.
According to the release, the SER earned Rs.1,581.72 crore from ffreight movement in the first two months of fiscal 2011-12 as compared to Rs.1,037.95 crore in the same period of the last fiscal.
This worked out to an increase of Rs.104 crore or a jump of 52.4 percent, the release said.
