Script holds top priority for Asin (Film Snippets)

Fardeen KhanMumbai, Jan 26 (IANS) “Ghajini” star Asin Thottumkal, who got the Screen award for the most promising female debut in a Hindi film, says the matters most to her and she signs a film only if she likes the narrative.”I have no particular choice of role in a film, but in the order of preference, I first see the script, followed by the role, director, banner and then the co-star,” Asin told IANS.

The south Indian actress, who will next be seen in Vipul Shah’s “London Dreams” along with Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan, said that since language has never been a criterion for her, she is “open to do a variety of films”.


No body-building for Manoj in ‘Acid Factory’

While Fardeen Khan, Irrfan Khan, Dino Morea and Aftab Shivadasani will flaunt their well-toned bodies in “Acid Factory”, Manoj Bajpai is the only one who couldn’t work on his physique for the film.

“I couldn’t tone up my body for the film because of a shoulder injury I suffered nearly two years ago,” Manoj told IANS.

For Sanjay Gupta’s “Acid Factory”, a special trainer has reportedly been hired to train the stars for their roles in the actioner.


Preity Zinta wants to help budding cricketers

Preity Zinta, who owns Kings XI Punjab of the Indian Premier League (IPL), now wants to give a chance to budding cricketers at the grassroot level.

Her team will hold a cricket seminar and a T-20 tournament in Chandigarh and Mohali where teams from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir will participate.

“My aim is to promote cricket at the grassroot level and to nurture new talent. I also want everyone involved to have fun,” Priety said.

The tournament is being conducted in conjunction with the state cricket associations and the Punjab Cricket Association in particular.

The matches would be played in a league format among five teams - two from Punjab and one each from the other three states. A total of 11 matches will be played in the tournament.
