Sadhvi Pragnya suffers minor heart attack
April 15th, 2010 - 12:53 am ICT by IANSNashik (Maharashtra), April 14 (IANS) Sadhvi Pragnya Singh Thakur, the prime accused in the September 2008 Malegaon bomb blast, suffered a minor heart attack here late Wednesday, her lawyer said.
According to her lawyer Ganesh Sovani, Pragnya was undergoing treatment for the past few days in an ayurvedic hospital here. She was admitted to the hospital after she went on a hunger strike and her health deteriorated.
“Around 9.30 p.m., the Sadhvi complained of severe chest pain and fell down unconscious. It was diagnosed as a minor heart attack,” Sovani told IANS.
Though she is still unconscious, her condition is reported to be stable, he added.
The 39-year-old woman has been in police custody in various jails in Maharashtra for one and a half years now.
Pragnya and 10 others were arrested for their alleged involvement in the Sep 29, 2008, Malegaon blast, which left six people dead and at least 10 injured.
