Sachin Pilot to join Territorial Army

New Delhi, Sep 5 (IANS) Congress leader and Minister of State for Communications and IT Sachin Pilot is set to be commissioned into the Territorial Army (TA) as an officer Thursday by the army chief, General Bikram Singh.

Pilot, 35, an MP from Dausa constituency in Rajasthan, has already cleared the written exam conducted by the TA and the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview at Allahabad, said informed sources Wednesday.

He will be joining the force as a lieutenant before heading for training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun, sources said.

Pilot will be commissioned into 124 TA Battalion of the Sikh Regiment.
