Russian carrier cancels flights to New York
August 27th, 2011 - 3:06 pm ICT by IANSMoscow, Aug 27 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Russia’s flagship carrier Aeroflot has cancelled its flights to New York on Saturday and Sunday due to hurricane Irene which is approaching the US East Coast, an official said.
Aeroflot spokeswoman Irina Dannenberg said: “We are cancelling our Saturday and Sunday flights to the US.”
Hurricane Irene is expected to make landfall Saturday in the state of North Carolina and reach New York late Saturday or early Sunday.
