Rukhsana Kousar, brother awarded Kirti Chakra
January 25th, 2010 - 5:24 pm ICT by IANSJammu, Jan 25 (IANS) Rukshana Kausar and her brother Aijaz Ahmad have been awarded the Kirti Chakra, the second highest gallantry award in peacetime, for their act of bravery in killing a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander in their Morha Kalsi village in Jammu and Kashmir last year.
The announcement was made in New Delhi on Monday on the eve of Republic Day.
Rukhsana and Aijaz had axed Osama and forced two other LeT terrorists to flee. She, her younger brother and her uncle have also been given jobs in the state police, besides many other honours for their act of bravery.
