RSL Defeat Chicago Fire To Reach MLS Cup Final

chicagoBridgeview, Nov.15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Chicago Fire suffered a humiliating defeat from rival Real Salt Lake on Saturday, which snapped the American soccer team’s chances of playing in the MLS Cup finale which is scheduled to take place on November 22 in Seattle. With the victory, Real Salt Lake have finalized their spot in the finals where they would be clashing against the Los Angeles Galaxy in a much anticipated match.

In the match that was a must win for both the teams to remain in the championship, RSL registered their win against the Chicago fires by a score of 1-0 with some of the RSL players displaying amazing performances that ultimately ensured their team’s victory. The game, which lasted for more than its scheduled 90 minutes witnessed a thirty minutes extra time along with nine penalty kicks when RSL scored the determining goal to come out as the ultimate winner. However, both the teams tried their best to register their position in the finale and possessed the ball equally- producing a number of shots. The winning team were also seen playing quite an aggressive game which resulted in four yellow cards being issued against its players.

On the whole, Saturday’s match turned out to be an extremely entertaining experience for all soccer lovers with its thrilling and nail biting results, as till the last moment it was unsure that which team would finally emerge as the ultimate winner. However, Real Salt Lake’s player Ned Grabavoy did not disappoint the fans and shot the penalty kick that enabled his team to taste victory.
