Ghaziabad, June 25 (IANS) The Municipal Corporation of Ghaziabad has slapped a penalty of Rs.850,000 on Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh’s mother for encroaching public land in Surya Nagar here. In a notice pasted on the main gate of the house (A-309), the corporation has accused her of erecting a grill and railing over public land.
She was accused of violating the Municipal Corporation Act 1959, the Prevention of Damages of Public Property Act and the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning Act besides provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
The notice on the house was pasted on Monday, with instructions that the penalty has to be paid by July 3.
The name given on the notice is Shail Kumari Singh, the mother of Amar Singh and wife of the late Thakur Harish Chandra Singh.
