Rs.80,000 looted from trader in Ghaziabad
April 30th, 2010 - 7:38 pm ICT by IANSGhaziabad, April 30 (IANS) Motorcyle-borne armed robbers looted Rs.80,000 from a trader Friday when he was driving to his office in Ashok Nagar here, police said.
Deepak Kansal, a distributor for prestigious brands of consumer durables, was near Ghaziabad Public School (GPS) in Ashok Nagar locality when three men on a motorcycle came close to the driver-side window.
Two of them took the keys from the car, slapped him twice and snatched his bag containing cash. All three then fled the spot leaving the keys on the road.
“They had covered their faces with dark glasses fitted in their helmets and brandished pistols,” Kansal said.
He called the police and lodged a complaint, in which he mentioned that he was carrying Rs.80,000 cash to be deposited in the bank.
“We have registered a case and are looking for the criminals,” Superintendent of Police (City) A.K. Vijaita said.
