Rs.5 lakh, job to kin of dead in accident: Mamata

Kolkata, July 19 (IANS) Compensation of Rs.5 lakh will be paid to the kin of those killed in the train accident in West Bengal’s Birbhum district, union Railways Minister Mamata Banerjee said Monday.
She said a job will also be provided to the kin of the dead.
At least 49 people were dead and 150 injured when the speeding Sealdah-bound Uttar Banga Express rammed into the stationary Bhagalpur-Ranchi Vananchal Express from the rear at Sainthia station in Birbhum.
Banerjee also announced compensation of Rs.1 lakh for the greviously injured and Rs.25,000 for those who sustained minor injuries.
