According to police, Amit Kansal of Ghaziabad had gone to The Nainital Bank in Sector-2 to deposit a cheque. His driver had parked his car some distance away from the bank premises and he had walked on foot towards the bank.
After returning, Amit saw the bag with the cash missing from the back seat where he had left it. When he asked the driver, he told Kansal that he did not notice anything on the back seat but had seen two men fleeing on a bike with a bag containing cash in their hand. By the time he could raise an alarm, the two had fled the spot.
Kansal then informed the police. A senior official at Sector-20 police station said Kansal had submitted a formal complaint and a case of theft had been registered.
