Rs.10 lakh burglary in Delhi
March 5th, 2011 - 10:48 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 5 (IANS) A bank manager’s house in the national capital was burgled of cash and jewellery worth over Rs.10 lakh, police said Saturday.
“Suresh Bajaj, 34, a resident of Vikaspuri, had Friday night gone for dinner with his family to a hotel in Janakpuri when the incident took place,” said a senior police officer.
“Around 11.30 p.m., when they returned home, they found that the locks had been broken and the lights were switched on. The house was ransacked and Rs.60,000 in cash and jewellery worth Rs.10 lakh were missing,” the officer said.
Bajaj is a senior manager with a private bank in Connaught Place and his wife is employed at a bank in Gurgaon.
“It’s a terrible feeling. We don’t feel secure even in our own city,” Inder, Bajaj’s brother, said.
