Rs.1 crore cash found in car
February 12th, 2012 - 6:14 pm ICT by IANSAmravati (Maharashtra), Feb 12 (IANS) Police in Maharashtra’s Amravati town Sunday seized Rs.1 crore in cash from a car. Two people have been arrested, police said.
“Two people — Ashish Bodhankar and Prakash Masram — have been arrested and the car and cash has been seized,” an officer from Amravati’s Gadgenagar Police Station told IANS.
The accused have been handed over to the Crime Branch, the officer said.
“The cash, which is suspected to be stolen, was found in the bonnet of the car,” the officer said.
Police is suspect that the cash was meant for distribution ahead of the Maharashtra civic polls Feb 16.
