Roof of room collapses in Jammu hospital (Lead)
December 17th, 2011 - 4:47 pm ICT by IANSJammu, Dec 17 (IANS) A portion of the roof of the nurses’ ward in the gynaecology and children’s wing of a government hospital here collapsed Saturday afternoon. Police sources said there was no report of any death or injury.
Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital sources said the children’s ward had been vacated a few days ago for repair work.
Top officials and rescue teams immediately rushed to the spot. The authorities were inquiring to ascertain the reason of the collapse.
SMGS was the first government hospital in Jammu and was inaugurated in May 1940.
