Roof collapse kills two in capital
December 30th, 2010 - 12:52 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 29 (IANS) Two people, including the owner of a steel factory, were killed and one was injured Wednesday when the roof of a building constructed eight-days ago collapsed after its support system was removed, police said.According to the police, the incident took place at a factory in Wazirpur Industrial Area in north Delhi. The factory owner has been identified as Anil Jain. The injured labourer has been identified as Ravi.
“The building was old and the owner was constructing a roof on its third floor,” a police officer said.
Jain and two labourers were stuck inside the debris. They were rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital where Jain and a labourer succumbed to injuries.
