Ronald Reagan monument unveiled in Georgia
November 24th, 2011 - 11:12 am ICT by IANSTbilisi, Nov 24 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A monument to former US president Ronald Reagan has been unveiled in Tbilisi, the capital and largest city of Georgia.
The monument features a bronze statue of the late Reagan sitting on a bench.
A Reagan quote — “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction” — is inscribed on the back of the bench in English and Georgian.
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and a US delegation attended the unveiling ceremony Wednesday.
Former US president George W. Bush has a street in Georgia named in his honour.
