Robbers who used toy pistols nabbed

New Delhi, 25 March (IANS) Two men, who would rob people using toy pistols, were arrested in the national capital, police said Thursday.
“The eight member gang would target women and individuals carrying hand bags and cell phones,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H.G.S. Dhaliwal said.

“Calling themselves Kela gang, the leader, Deepak (19), who was trapped and his associate Manoj Kumar (20) with the other members were involved in robbing the public by scaring them with toy pistols.”

“They were also using stolen motorcycles. Some minors were also used by the gang,” an official said.

With the arrest of the two, police claimed to have solved 22 cases of snatching and robbery and recovered two motorcycles stolen from Dabri and Mayapuri.

Police have also recovered a gas lighter pistol made in China, a knife, 24 duplicate keys and 6 cell phones.
