Robbers barge into Ghaziabad house, loot valubles

Ghaziabad, May 23 (IANS) Unidentified men barged into a trader’s house here Friday and looted jewellery and valuables worth at least Rs.300,000. According to the family, two men climbed on to the balcony of Mukesh Kansal’s house in Laxmi Vihar locality of Ghaziabad, a suburb of the national capital, using a ladder while a third man rang the bell of the house in the wee hours Friday.

When Kansal’s wife opened the main gate, the robber pushed her aside and barged into the house. He then dragged her to the first floor where Kansal was asleep. He opened the door to the balcony and let in his two accomplices.

The three men then gagged and tied the couple at gun point and looted jewellery, cash and valuables in the house.

The trader, who runs a steel firm, Usha Trading Company, revealed that the amount looted during the three-hour robbery would be at least Rs.300,000, although he has to prepare an inventory of the stolen things.

Inspector Mohan Lal said they are investigating the case.
