Robber lynched in Delhi
April 6th, 2010 - 7:04 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 6 (IANS) A man who, along with his accomplice, allegedly tried to rob a person at gunpoint was lynched by angry residents in north Delhi, police said Tuesday.
“Vinod Sharma and Shyam, residents of Ghaziabad, tried to rob a man at gunpoint near the government quarters in Gulabi Bagh late Monday night. The victim screamed for help and passersby came to his rescue,” a police officer said.
Both the men were severely beaten by the residents of the area, and police was alerted immediately.
“Both the men fell unconscious and were taken to the nearby hospital where Vinod was declared brought dead, as he suffered major injuries,” the police officer added.
