Kabul, June 11 (IANS) At least 15 people, including eight children, were killed when a roadside bomb blast hit a bus in Afghanistan’s Kandhar province Saturday morning, Xinhua quoted the Afghanistan interior ministry as saying.
“The bloody incident occurred at around 10.00 a.m. local time Saturday when a mini-bus touched off a roadside bomb in Arghandab district. As a result, 15 civilians - eight children, four women and three men - were killed and one woman was wounded,” Afghanistan’s interior ministry said in a statement.
The ministry in its statement blamed Taliban insurgents for the bomb blast. However, Taliban militants are yet to react to the incident.
In 2010, Taliban-led insurgency took lives of over 2,700 civilians in Afghanistan.
