Retired teacher found murdered
September 29th, 2011 - 12:45 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 28 (IANS) A 82-year-old retired government school teacher was found murdered at his house in west Delhi Wednesday, police said.
Vilayat Chand Sethia was discovered dead on the first floor of his house at Kirti Nagar by his son-in-law, Rajesh Sodhi in the morning.
A rope was hanging around Sethia’s neck, and the other end was tied to a table. A gold chain and a gold ring were missing from the body and the room was ransacked, said a senior police officer
Sethia was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
A case of murder has been registered at Kirti Nagar police station.
Sethia, who is survived by his two daughters, was supposed to register a property will in their names Thursday, police said.
Police are investigating if the will has any link to the murder.
