Relief teams deployed in flood-hit Orissa
September 24th, 2011 - 10:02 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 24 (IANS) Five teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in Orissa for flood relief operations, the home ministry said Saturday.
The teams comprise 155 men and are equipped with boats, life jackets, generator sets and other equipment, a ministry statement said.
Two helicopters have also been deployed for air-dropping food packets for the marooned people.
The floods have affected the districts of Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Baleswar, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.
