Rejected by girlfriend, man slashes five women (Lead)
December 6th, 2010 - 9:51 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 6 (IANS) Spurned by his girlfriend, a 22-year-old man took revenge by attacking five young women with a surgical blade here during the last one month.
On Nov 12, the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in east Delhi got three cases of girls being slashed with blades on their face - all within 20 minutes.
After a lull of a few weeks, two more girls were slashed in the same area Dec 2 and 3.
Delhi Police Monday arrested 19-year-old Vishal and his friend Rohit Kumar, who admitted they were the ones who were attacking the unsuspecting victims.
“Vishal disclosed during interrogation that he loved a girl who dumped him a month ago. He did all this in frustration,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Chhaya Sharma.
