Rains skip Delhi again, likely Friday

New Delhi, Aug 18 (IANS) Delhi residents witnessed another muggy day Thursday with the maximum temperature above the average and humidity levels remaining high. The met office has forecast rains Friday.

The maximum temperature was recorded a notch above average at 34.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.7 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, an official of India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The humidity levels wavered between a high of 84 and a low of 59 percent, added the official.

According to the IMD, the skies will remain cloudy Friday and there is a possibility of thundershowers in some parts of the city

“The maximum and minimum temperature will hover around 33 and 27 degrees Celsius,” the official added.

According to the Met office, the city has so far received a total of 348 mm of rainfall this monsoon — 20 percent below average.

Wednesdays’ maximum and minimum temperature was recorded at 33.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above average, while the minimum was recorded a notch below average at 24.8 degrees.
