Rains lash Punjab, Haryana

“We had moderate to heavy showers in most parts of Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana,” said a Met official here.
The rains brought much-needed respite from the sweltering heat.
Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 28.7 degrees Celsius Thursday morning.
Punjab’s Amritsar city recorded a minimum of 26.8 degrees whereas Ludhiana and Patiala cities settled at a low of 27.6 and 27.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
In Haryana, Ambala, Hisar and Karnal towns recorded 27, 26.8 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively.
