Kurukshetra (Haryana), March 3 (IANS) The family of Satyendra Kumar Dhiman, who committed suicide Monday by jumping in front of a moving train in Rajasthan, have demanded stern action against seven people named by him in the suicide note.
Satyendra, 28, who was pursuing a one-year advanced diploma course at Mumbai’s Advanced Training Institute, was depressed and frustrated as his seniors were constantly harassing and ragging him, police said.

Satyendra jumped in front of a moving train near Chowmahala town in Rajasthan’s Jhalwar district. Police had recovered a suicide note in which he had named seven of his seniors as being responsible for his extreme step.

“He had told us that he was returning home since he could not tolerate the harassment any more. We demand a thorough probe and strict punishment for the seven men who are accused of driving my brother to suicide,” said Ashok Dhiman, brother of Satyendra.

He added: “Satyendra had done a diploma from the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Kurukshetra. He had taken admission in a Mumbai-based institute in August 2009 to enhance his technical skills in pursuit of better job prospects.”

Satyendra’s family lived in Ismailabad village in this Haryana district, some 100 km from the state capital Chandigarh.

“He was very depressed and frustrated. When he informed us about the circumstances in Mumbai, we advised him to return. But while returning he committed suicide. We want police to immediately arrest all the culprits responsible for my son’s death,” said Hans Raj Dhiman, Satyendra’s father.

“He had also complained against the errant boys to the authorities of the institute (where Satyendra was studying) but they did nothing to prevent them,” Hans Raj Dhiman added.

Satyendra was married to Rekha Rani and also had a two-year-old son.

He had come to meet his family last month and returned to Mumbai Feb 20.
