New Delhi, Jan 23 (IANS) Reliance Communications (R-Com), part of the Reliance-Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-ADAG), Friday reported 2.7 percent increase in net profit in the quarter ended Dec 31.The company posted Rs.14.1 billion (Rs.1,410 crore) net profit in the quarter as against Rs.13.73 billion a year earlier, an official statement said.
The total income for the third quarter surged 20 percent to Rs.58.5 billion from Rs.48.74 billion a year ago.
The company’s consolidated net profit rose 14.24 percent to Rs.44.53 billion for the quarter under review, compared to Rs.38.98 billion in the corresponding period last year.
The consolidated income this fiscal increased 22.25 percent to Rs.168.17 billion from Rs.137.56 billion, the statement said.
R-Com’s revenue from wireless services witnessed 11.5 percent surge at Rs.44.11 billion for the quarter under review as against Rs.39.57 billion.
The company launched its GSM services in 11,000 towns across the country this quarter while its direct-to-home (DTH) service, Big TV, acquired over 1 million subscribers within 90 days of launch.
