Punjabi singer’s cash, valuables stolen from car in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 16 (IANS) Jewellery and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were stolen from the car of Punjabi singer Bhoopender Singh Bhoopi by unidentified thieves here, a police officer said Friday. According to the police, the theft occurred late Thursday in Saraswati Vihar area in northwest district.

“The singer with his brother had come to attend a birthday party of his friend’s wife. They parked their cars outside the function venue and robbers broke their car’s window and made away with the valuables kept in the car,” the police officer said.

Bhoopi said: “I had parked my car outside the function venue. My brother told me that our car’s windows are broken, I went outside and found three cars were vandalised.”

“Rs.40,000 in cash, a digital camera, a Rado watch, a diamond ring, passport with valid US visa and an ATM card were missing from my car,” he said.
