Punjab minister stuck in lift

Mohali, April 7 (IANS) Punjab Industries and Local Bodies Minister Manoranjan Kalia and ten others were stuck in a lift at a government building here for over 30 minutes here Thursday, officials said.
The incident took place when Kalia went to the forest complex building for the inauguration of Rajinder Bitta, who took over as vice-chairman of the Punjab Forest Corporation Thursday.
Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party president Ashwani Sharma and chief parliamentary secretary and Mukerian legislator Arunesh Shakhar were among those stuck in the lift between the ground floor and the first floor.
The corporation staff ran the lift manually into the basement, from where the group made a safe exit.
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal faced the same problem in the same building earlier.
