Punjab minister gets five years jail for daughter’s death
March 30th, 2012 - 6:20 pm ICT by IANSPatiala (Punjab), March 30 (IANS) A senior minister in Punjab’s Parkash Singh Badal government was Friday held guilty by a court here for conspiracy in the death of her own daughter in April 2000 and sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment.
Cabinet minister Jagir Kaur, who is a former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president, was convicted by the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court here. However, the court dropped the charges of murder (Section 302) against Jagir Kaur and other who had been accused by the CBI.
