Protests in Noida on Mayawati’s birthday

Bahujan Samaj PartyNoida, Jan 15 (IANS) Hundreds of Samajwadi Party workers protested in this Uttar Pradesh district over “absence of law and order” and demanded the removal of Chief Minister Mayawati, who celebrated her 53rd birthday Thursday.The Samajwadi Party activists gathered at the Shimla Park in Sector-12 shouting slogans against Mayawati.

They demanded removal of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government and imposition of President’s Rule in the state.

The protesters courted arrest and were released in the evening.

In Ghaziabad also, over 600 Samwajwadi Party workers protested near the district headquarters.

“There is no rule of law. Extortion, loot and murder have become the order of the day. Mayawati is engaged in the process of filling her pockets and is not concerned with the (public) affairs,” said Jitendra Yadav, Samajwadi Party district president.

The party observed the day as “Thu-Thu Diwas” (condemnation day).

Ajit Singh’s Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) workers also protested against the Mayawati government in the state.
