Professor critically wounded in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, Aug 21 (IANS) A professor was critically wounded here Tuesday after three robbers shot him when he resisted their attempt to steal his car, police said.

Dev Dutt of Banke Behari Dental College was waylaid while returning home in Shastri Nagar. Three men in another car overtook Dutt, forced him to stop and tried to snatch his vehicle.

One of them shot him after seeing a police constable, who rushed the bleeding professor to a hospital where the man’s condition was said to be critical.

One of the criminals was arrested, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Jagdish Sharma said.
