Professor commits suicide in Ghaziabad
November 7th, 2009 - 9:45 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Ghaziabad, Nov 7 (IANS) A professor teaching in a private technical institute committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan here, police said Saturday.
The incident came to light when the owner of the house, where the professor, Satendra Nath Gupta was staying on rent in Shastri Nagar in Ghaziabad, knocked on his door Saturday morning. Getting no response, the landlord called the police and when the door was opened, Gupta was found hanging from the ceiling fan, police said.
Gupta, a resident of Aligarh, was a professor of physics teaching at the Vaishwsarya Technical Institute in Dadri in Greater Noida, police said.
No suicide note has been found. Gupta’s father has been informed about the incident and his body sent for post mortem examination, police said.
