Proclaimed offender nabbed in Delhi
January 13th, 2011 - 2:18 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 13 (IANS) A proclaimed offender who was evading arrest for the past two years in at least seven cases of robbery and dacoity has been nabbed here, police said Thursday.Chattar Singh, a resident of Ghaziabad, was apprehended by a team of Delhi Police’s Crime Branch Wednesday, a senior police official said.
Singh was declared a proclaimed offender by a local court in connection with seven cases of robbery and dacoity in 2008.
“He was evading arrest. We got a tip-off about his movements which led to his arrest,” the official said.
A motorcycle, a country-made firearm and four live cartridges were recovered from him.
