Prithvi-II missile test postponed
December 21st, 2011 - 1:08 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Dec 21 (IANS) India Wednesday postponed the test of its nuclear-capable Prithvi-II missile from a test range in Odisha due to a technical snag, a defence official said.
“The test was postponed due to a technical snag,” S.P. Dash, director of the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Balasore district, told IANS.
The medium-range missile, which can carry a payload of 500 kg and has a maximum range of 350 km, was scheduled to be launched Wednesday by army personnel as part of a training exercise from the Chandipur test range, about 230 km from state capital Bhubaneswar.
