President to attend Ranchi varsity convocation

Ranchi, Dec 9 (IANS) President Pratibha Patil will participate in the 25th convocation of Ranchi University Friday.
Patil will award gold medals to 36 students. She will also inaugurate the new building of the Institute of Basic Sciences and a khadi fair.
She will return to New Delhi Saturday, said Ranchi Deputy Commissioner K.K. Soan.
Patil is the second president to attend the Ranchi University convocation. Her predecessor A.P.J. Abdul Kalam attended in 2004.
