President, PM celebrate Raksha Bandhan with kids (Lead)

New Delhi, Aug 13 (IANS) President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Saturday celebrated Raksha Bandhan with children, including differently-abled kids.
According to an official statement, the children tied rakhis or bands on the wrists of the president and the prime minister.
Kids from various schools in Delhi and elsewhere visited Rashtrapati Bhavan to celebrate the festival with President Patil.
An official statement said: “About 120 children met her on the occasion, from schools and social organisations not only from Delhi but also from Punjab, Haryana, Kerala, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.”
Similarly, children greeted the prime minister at his official residence here and tied rakhis on his wrist.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani too celebrated the day with kids. Children shared sweets with the veteran leader and he gave them gifts in return.
