President condemns Delhi High Court blast

New Delhi, Sep 7 (IANS) President Pratibha Patil Wednesday condemned the bomb blast outside the Delhi High Court, which killed nine people and injured 45 others.
“The president condemns the bomb blast,” the president’s spokesperson Archana Datta told IANS. “She condoled the death of the innocent people.”
Patil also wished the injured who are being treated at several Delhi hospitals, including Ram Manohar Lohia (RML), a “speedy recovery”. Most of the injured are admitted at the RML Hospital in the heart of the city.
A powerful bomb hidden in a suitcase exploded outside the Delhi High Court Wednesday during the peak morning hour. This is the third major bombing in India since the 2008 Mumbai terror attack.
Home Secretary R.K. Singh said the explosion took place around 10.30 a.m. outside Gate No. 5 of the high court complex located close to India Gate in the centre of the capital.
