Pre-monsoon showers hit Delhi

New Delhi, June 26 (IANS) Pre-monsoon showers hit the capital Sunday morning, bringing relief from muggy weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rain and thundershowers in the day.

“Skies will be generally cloudy with pleasant weather throughout the day. Rains or thundershowers will also continue,” an IMD official said.

The minimum temperature recorded Sunday morning was 27 degrees Celsius, he said.

“The maximum and minimum temperatures Sunday will hover around 35 and 25.9 degrees Celsius,” he said.

“Light showers were witnessed in some parts of the national capital early Sunday morning whereas in north west Delhi, there were heavy showers,” he said.

The met office has predicted more rains towards the evening.

The national capital received 2 mm of rainfall till 9 a.m. Sunday in south Delhi area.

The humidity was recorded at 95 percent.

The maximum and minimum temperatures Saturday hovered around 38.7 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively.
