Chandigarh, March 16 (IANS) President Pratibha Patil will deliver Dr. V.N. Tewari Memorial Lecture at the Panjab University (PU) here Thursday, officials said here Wednesday.
Patil will reach the airport here around 10.35 a.m. and would leave the city later in the day.
Chandigarh Police have made sufficient security arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the president’s visit.
“We have deployed security officials all across the city. Some traffic routes will be blocked for some time to make way for the president’s cavalcade. However, traffic would be diverted to alternate routes to avoid traffic jams,” said a police officer.
